Long haul flights should be used as means for torture...

On the last flight from Singapore to Jakarta there were many of us, future dannasiswa students.
From the airpport of Jakarta we were taken to a fake-colonial monumental hotel surrounded by
scyscapers form one side and bustling Asian streets from the other.

For two days the indonesian state demonstrated its mindset and generosity with food, loud music and hooray-happy dances.
During that darmasiswa orientation day we were supposed to be taught to fold animals from bamboo leaves and we were given the chance to get to know 660 students from 91 countries in roughly 24 hours. Sometimes I wished I’d rather get lost in the jungle of Jakarta.
These people are are going study bahasa indonesia (the common language of the country) or indonasian culture at some university of Sumatra, Kalimantan (Borneo), Java, Sulawesi (Celebes) or Bali.

Many non-eurpoean people took seriuosly the request for national folk dress; she's from Egypt muistaakseni

It turned out that my coursemates at Ahmad Dahlan university are from China, Vietnam, Egypt, Bangladesh, Tajikistan and Saudi-Arabia.

Highilight from the hotel resto (rastaurant): dried beetroot snacks.

After the second night we were put on buses again and transferred to the airport from where this students were distributed. (Flight ticket on Indonesian taxpayers)

Sorry for bad photos, changes come with time!
