Malang has the reputation of cooler climate and is the starting point of hikes to Gunung Bromo and Semeru the most renowned volcanoes in Java. Instead of watching them we couchsurfed there, did much needed laundry and and did NOT sit on the scooters for 30 hours. And walked around in Malang briefly before rain set on.
